Connection is where wellness begins

In 2020, the world experienced a global shutdown. We huddled in our homes with our families and friends. We enforced social distancing and boundaries. We tested new ways of working remotely. We held our breath as our children navigated online classes. We mourned the loss of loved ones whose health conditions worsened. And we are still witnessing the damaging effects.
Before the COVID pandemic, I worked several days a week in local Central Florida gyms teaching Les Mills BodyPump, Zumba, and yoga. So, this unforeseen event meant that group exercise was forbidden. I could no longer support my class members. I too, like so many others, had to pivot. I began working from home for one of the Big Four US consulting firms. It felt like I was selling my soul.
Soon after that soul sucking realization, I started dreaming about The Swell Center.
Connection is essential to how we feel and function.
It grows in an environment where people feel supported and seen. Where you can show up as you are-- feeling strong and energized or tired or overwhelmed and no matter what, you still belong.
The Swell Center is meant to foster that kind of belonging. It's not just the classes, workshops and services here, it's through the feeling you get when you walk through the door.
Swell stands for Social Wellness. Because yes, we need to be healthy individuals, but even moreso, we need each other. And we all deserve to feel a little more "swell" in our lives.
I'm here for it. And I hope you are too.
